I spent some time in the darkroom with my sister and her students at Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco this weekend. The center has a really nice facility and they have a program for high school students that allows them to take classes at no cost. Really awesome for them, it was fun to see their photos.

I shot some photos at a cowboy dressage clinic with Christine Simpson (even though it was a bit of a gray day).

This month was my second time shooting for a Danica Yates clinic in Beavercreek. Luckily the indoor arena had some really great lighting! 

 

 

2014: April is Photo Month in Portland!

 

This is my 3rd year in a row having photos in  Photolucida's Then. Now. Here. slideshow at my favorite gallery in the pearl, Blue Sky Gallery, and at the Oregon Historical Society. In addition I also have photos up in the Photography and Printmaking show at the Splendorporium in the Brooklyn neighborhood.

There are two more screenings coming up. I was able to see the show at Newspace Center for Photography.  The old black and white images from the Oregon Historical Society were amazing. I grew up in Eugene and Bend and am happy to have my work shown there.

It's almost a new year and more of the horse photos will be up at splendorporium in January. Happy New Year!!

 

 Equine Photographs at Coffee Division 10/1/12

 

These equine photos will be mounted on woodblocks for my show at Coffee Division in October. The show will include a recent photo shoot of the kiger mustangs as well as the arabians from Seeking the Sun.

This week was my first run mounting photos on wood panels. This process is archival because I used a barrier between the wood and photograph. I plan on using an archival varnish with uv protection as well.

Digital Photography

 

I am now shooting digital as well as film. After doing several photo shoots I have decided that in some cases digital is an option I needed to utilise. For those of you interested in portraits this will make it easier to put the images on a disk for you rather than selling you the negatives. Although shooting digital may be necessary in many cases it will never replace the look of images from my seagull, hasselblad or even 35 mm; so I am now offering both options.

3rd Zine Issue

 

There is now a third zine from this July printed out of brooklyn that includes one of my equine photos.  Spending my time each week at a stable, I am now doing more equine photos which I will continue to post.

This last Sunday 4/11/2010 I spent the day assisting my good friend Jenn Lawrence with her Letterpress class at Atelier Meridian. Now that I have learned more about the letter press I would like to do some printing in this medium.

Brooklyn Zine

 

  Some of my photos I took when I lived in Eugene were published in a zine out of Brooklyn recently. The second addition of the zine will have 2 photos from the People & Their Pets series. Autumn is putting together the next zine for April 2010.

Cyanotypes

 

 

Thanks to my friends Jen & Heather (who have been letting me use their darkroom) I was able to expose 12 cyanotypes today and I still plan on doing some more. Once they are dry I can post some images.
